Affiliate disclosure

LAST UPDATED JUL 2026
THE SHORT VERSION
Some links on this site earn us a commission when you use them. It never costs you anything extra, and it never changes what we recommend. That's the whole thing — details below.

Which links earn us money

Buttons like "Check price," "Open account," and "Visit" on our exchange, wallet, and ETF pages may be affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase or open an account, the company pays us a referral fee. The price you pay is identical either way — the commission comes out of the company's marketing budget, not your pocket.

How you can tell

Every page containing affiliate links says so near the top ("Contains affiliate links"), and individual affiliate buttons are labeled where space allows. In our site's code, these links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute — the method Google requires for commercial links — so we're transparent to both readers and search engines.

What commissions never buy

Scores, rankings, "best of" placements, or softer criticism. Our review process is documented in full at How we review — commissions are not an input to it. Several products we rank highly pay us nothing; several that pay us rank below them.

Sponsored content

Occasionally we publish content a company paid for. When we do, it's labeled "Sponsored" at the top, styled visibly differently from editorial, and never written by our review team. Sponsors get no say in our news coverage or reviews.

Our own holdings

We hold bitcoin — testing wallets and exchanges requires it, and we believe in doing our homework with real stakes. We do not hold positions in the exchange or ETF companies we review, and staff may not trade around our coverage.

Questions

This disclosure is required by the FTC's endorsement guides — and it's also just how we'd want to be treated. If anything is unclear, email us: [email protected].
