Cash App suits buyers who want Bitcoin alongside everyday payments, without a full trading terminal. Compare a one-off market purchase with Auto Buy, and review withdrawal minimums before moving a small balance. The app's wider banking or payment rating is not automatically a rating of its Bitcoin service.

WHAT WE DIDN'T

−Custodial account limits until you verify further
What you'll actually pay

Buying Bitcoin in an existing app
Existing customers can start in the Bitcoin section, subject to identity checks, eligibility and account limits. Having the payments app does not guarantee immediate Bitcoin access.
What the convenience costs
The official fee schedule lists market-order fees of 2% below $500, 1.5% from $500–$999, 0.9% from $1,000–$1,999 and 0% at $2,000 or more. Auto Buy has no fee or spread. Check the final market-order quote for any spread.
The withdrawal test
Standard Bitcoin withdrawals and Lightning sends are fee-free. Standard withdrawals have a minimum and processing window; faster options can cost extra.
Use it if…
You already use Cash App and want the easiest possible start, or you want paycheck auto-conversion.
Skip it if…
You need an order-book trading interface or features beyond the app’s Bitcoin buying and transfer tools.
Common questions
Does Cash App charge to withdraw bitcoin?
Standard (batched) withdrawals are free; instant "rush" withdrawals cost extra. Lightning sends are free.
Is bitcoin on Cash App real bitcoin?
Yes — and unlike PayPal's original model, you can withdraw it to your own wallet. That makes it a legitimate on-ramp, not just exposure.
What is paycheck auto-convert?
You can route a percentage of every direct deposit into bitcoin automatically — one of the best set-and-forget DCA tools anywhere.
Cash App is one convenient on-ramp, but it is not the only app-based route. Compare PayPal, Revolut, embedded on-ramps and swap services in other ways to buy Bitcoin.
Customer feedback and review context
Customer reports can highlight account-access, withdrawal and support issues, but self-selected reviews do not establish how often a problem occurs. Keep them separate from published product terms and editorial scores. See how we review or send a documented correction.
